The origin of these issues often have their roots in unresolved childhood trauma and attachment deficits.
Working through these in trauma based treatment is often necessary to create the life you desire. Other times stopping harmful behaviors are the number one priority- so a more behavioral approach is helpful or desired to make change happen.
