Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is a research validated method in which partners learn to identify harmful and entrenched patterns within their marriage and develop the skills to engage in a new way. Your relationship may be highly reactive and conflictual or feel like an emotional desert where closeness disappeared long ago. In either case, EFT can help you create a partnership that is nourishing and a haven for personal growth. I am an advanced practitioner of EFT. I work with both heterosexual and same sex couples.
I have been working with individual clients for twenty-five years. I use a number of treatment modalities and address a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction recovery, and trauma. When we have a loving relationship with ourselves even the most overwhelming and intractable problems can be transformed.
Besides my training in psychotherapy I was a Seattle firefighter and EMT for thirteen years and assisted in an enormous array of emergency situations. I am a parent of two college age sons and have spent a great deal of time learning to be a better parent and helping others with this challenging endeavor.
