I take an eclectic approach to therapeutic modalities, incorporating psychodynamic and relational approaches with specific CBT, DBT, and mindfulness skills. I believe that exploring our past experiences and the ways we carry patterns of relating to people throughout our lives is the bedrock of therapeutic change, but that at times, it is important to focus on here and now skills in order to deal with acute crises.
I specialize in mens’ issues, substance use and recovery, LGBTQ+ issues, adolescents and young adults, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship struggles. I also deal specifically with bipolar disorder and personality disorders, particularly BPD.
I believe that the first step to getting results in therapy is to have a therapist who you can trust, who makes you feel understood, and who you can be vulnerable and honest with. Therapy can be challenging, frustrating, and emotional. But with the right partner in the process, it can also be rewarding, uplifting, and even fun sometimes!
