Starting that first step can be very daunting and to be here at this very moment, I want to take a moment to celebrate YOU. I believe strongly that in order to become the main characters of our lives—authentic to who we are and who we want to become— we have to start by allowing ourselves to explore and reflect on our current journey and if we are where we want to be. Allowing ourselves that vulnerability in self exploration, in understanding why we do what we do, is one that leads to self improvement and discovery.
In therapy, I often utilize a variety of practices depending your needs including: Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Approach, Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, Art and Play Therapy. I have worked with teenagers and children with ADHD, bipolar disorder, borderline disorder, substance use, and attachment disorders.
As a First-Generation Chinese Immigrant, born and raised in Southern California, Los Angeles, I grew up with two different cultures and languages so vastly different from one another. I am also very aware in certain cultural challenges and barriers that many second generation Asian Americans may face due to my cultural background.
