Sometimes it's not about what you want to hear but what you need to hear. I value honesty in the therapeutic relationship and don't shy away from challenging clients to foster growth. It's important to me to collaborate with my clients to reach their therapeutic goals. Discomfort creates growth and I am here to guide you through it. My catch phrase is "almost everything goes back to your childhood" and I believe it is important to explore childhood experiences to gain insight into present issues. From there, we can heal past traumas and improve your life. In addition, I include CBT and DBT in sessions to aid in behavioral changes.
I have experience working with college students, in residential substance use treatment, intensive outpatient substance use treatment, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. My areas of focus are mood disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction, trauma/PTSD, and personality disorders.
