I am an experienced therapist with a keen sensitivity to my clients' needs, and a deep understanding of their issues. I work with a diverse clientele, and I help my clients manage a wide spectrum of situations that arise in their lives. People come when they are overwhelmed, stressed out, experiencing work issues, marriage troubles, school problems, etc. I work with them to teach them new skills, or to help them realize that they have the skills they need, but are not using them in the most advantageous way. This process of learning and change is the essence of psychotherapy.
My skills include working with clients on long-term planning, as well as crisis management. I am experienced at working on issues of depression, anxiety, grief, marital conflict resolution, adolescent conflict resolution, parenting, and chronic illness. I work with adults and adolescents, individuals, couples and families.
I have many years of experience in mental health and psychiatric recovery. One of my special areas of interest is enabling clients with psychiatric disabilities to lead productive, fulfilling lives with dignity and with as much independence as possible. I work with family members as well as the patient, when appropriate.
