I am passionate about my work with children, teens, and families. I use an array of counseling theories and techniques along with play therapy, expressive art, therapeutic yoga, guided relaxation and other holistic approaches to help provide healing, wellness and integrated wholeness to my clients. Working collaboratively with other providers, I offer my clients a complete support system to promote self-growth, recovery, serenity and balance. I provide individual and small group counseling.to help with stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, phobias, school issues, self-growth, life transitions and challenges.

Ken Kronheim has been a licensed therapist since 2007. As a retired fire rescue chief, Ken possesses the experience and insight not only to ease physical suffering but help mental health as well. Ken's goal is to not only make you "feel" better but also help you "get" better. My focus Ken has a vast amount of experience with front-line/professional personnel such as first responders, medical field, military, law, educators and their families as well as college aged students. Ken utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy while primarily utilizing CBT, REBT, and solution-focused techniques.

I believe in the power of play to help children connect with and express their inner experiences and emotions. Play is a safe space to explore and work through intense feelings, leading to a sense of mastery and the ability to express feelings in a well-regulated way. Because development occurs through warm and supportive relationships, I work to build a meaningful connection with each child and family, meeting them where they are and utilizing areas of strength to work on things that are more difficult and challenging.

I believe that therapy should be an active process, where clients work not only to reduce symptoms, but also to lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives. I enjoy helping clients examine their approach to their problems, face their fears and identify what really matters to them. I work primarily from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, which focuses on helping clients change their perspective and take action to improve their lives.

I always gravitated to jobs that entailed helping people: Teacher; American Red Cross; Covenant House. I had also pursued seminary studies and was briefly on track to becoming a clergyman. Entry into grad school to study Counseling seemed the next natural step in my career path. But there was a more profound reason I became a Professional Helper, and that is my own lifelong struggles with anxiety and depression.

I bring 30+ years of personal and professional growth and development with me to help clients create and/or obtain a sense of self that is balanced and centered. Emotional healing is the goal for all clients through several modalities.

Valor Wellness was born out of a need to create a safe & confidential place for first responders & their families to get help. Civilians working within public safety are welcome as well. Founder, Lesley Lawson is an experienced, culturally competent life coach within law enforcement, the fire service, dispatch & corrections with over seven years of experience in those areas. While Valor Wellness specializes in first responders, Lesley has significant experience working with children & adolescents. Lesley is also very passionate about women’s issues and coaching women through leaving and healing from toxic/abusive relationships.

I enjoy helping individuals in need. I have an eclectic approach but rely heavily on mindfulness and solution focused therapy. I am very straight forward in my approach, and focus on individuals, adolescents, adults couples. I specialize in teenagers and young adults.

My professional experience includes providing individual and group therapy in a private practice setting and working in the hospital setting to provide crisis intervention, discharge planning, and conducting behavioral health assessments as part of treatment planning. I serve clients experiencing various mental health issues and problems surrounding anger management, anxiety, coping skills, depression, grief/loss, stress, and self-esteem.
