My entire therapy practice is 100% online to offer you a convenient way to add therapy to your already busy schedule.
How long has it been since you've felt like yourself? You've continued to put on a brave face but find yourself exhausted, stressed, and defeated each day. There are moments when you question if anyone notices how hurt you are yet when they ask how you're doing, you reply with a simple "fine". You continue to work hard to help your kids, your spouse, your neighbors, work colleagues and now there is nothing left for you. It's time to change that. You are important.

Every human being at times experiences sadness, anxiety, anger, shame, fear, hopelessness, guilt, uncertainty. But for some, their daily lives are significantly impacted. You may be struggling with your marriage, partnership, children, family, friends, employer, co-workers. Depression and anxiety may cause you to avoid doing the things that matter and/or to choose unhealthy ways of coping. Some struggle with anger issues that result in legal, relationship and/or employment problems. Others have experienced traumatic events as children and/or adults. While pain in life is inevitable, it does not have to take over our lives.

It is my hope that you leave every session feeling accepted, understood, and confident that you can create a fulfilling life. Exploring values, embracing feelings, challenging thought processes, and practicing mindfulness are all things we may do together in a typical session. I enjoy reflecting with clients on how their experiences (past and present) are influencing them and coming up with solutions to help clients create the life they want.

Hi there! Do you feel like you're giving everything you've got, but it's still not good enough? Are you exhausted from worrying about all of the things that are piling up on your to-do list? Do you wish that you had more self-confidence when you look in the mirror? Have you forgotten when you last truly relaxed and took time to invest in your self-care? Most importantly, are you ready for a change?

There are times when we all need a little help, someone to listen, empathize with, and validate our feelings. We all have a desire to find meaning and purpose in our lives and at times, our path can be challenging and seem never ending. Still, we strive to continue on our journey, and having someone come alongside you on your journey through the art of healing can be the push or respite you need.

My practice is client-centered and universal. I believe in treating the entire person. I look at past experiences, trauma, current issues, and future hopes and goals. I specialize in treating children ages (5+), adolescents, young adults, and adults. Most of my experience is working with clients healing from trauma. I pull from a variety of therapeutic techniques to work with the individual. If one therapy is not working, let's try something else.

Easy to schedule on our website! For those of you who garden, you understand the importance of pulling a weed out by its roots; otherwise, it will keep coming back. Many counseling issues are like weeds. As therapists, we value taking the time necessary to explore your past & determine together the root causes of your issues. At the same time, it's important to make this process efficient and effective. We'll work towards healing, as well as functioning without the need for therapy, in a timely manner. But we'll also be here for you whenever you need us!

As an expert in Narcissistic Abuse, it has been my passion to help those who suffer at the hands of narcissists. To reach more people than I can see individually, I've written a book and trained the therapists who work in my group practice on how to work with survivor-victims of narcissistic abuse. Check out our website to see which therapists have availability & if they're licensed in your state. You can also find information about "Swimming with Sharks: Surviving Narcissist-Infested Waters", including the link to purchase on Amazon!

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
