Dr. Geoffrey Fowler, Psy. D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who conducts psychotherapy and psychological testing for clients ages six through geriatric. His psychotherapy integrates humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, emotional-processing, and insight-gathering approaches for mood disorders, anxiety, anger, behavioral issues, and life-transition concerns. He also has experience helping clients in the LGBTQ community and clients going through transitions. His psychological testing focuses on evaluating for ADHD, emotional disorders, learning disabilities, academic achievement, and PTSD.

Jenny Yu Riemer received a Master’s of Social Work from Boston University and is currently working towards LCSW Licensure in both the states of MA and VA. Jenny is a skilled, compassionate, trauma-informed and collaborative clinician who has experience with individuals of all ages and identities, specializing in work with youth, adolescents, families and members of LGBTQIA+ community. She has experience and passion for supporting individuals with complex trauma, anxiety, depression and stress due to life/other transitions.

My work spans the spectrum of research, therapy, and community services. I have supported teens and adults navigate chronic illness, depression, life transitions and anxiety. I am deeply passionate about peri/postnatal mental health equity and working with those navigating the complexities of pregnancy/ postpartum. I have a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and couples. As such, I strive to create an understanding and welcoming space to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC and LGTBQIA+, in order to explore the experience of minority stress and trauma.

I enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults, supporting them through challenging situations by providing the necessary tools for their healing journey. These challenges may include parent-child conflicts, academic difficulties, or traumatic childhood experiences. Melina is a Resident in Counseling, Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional, and Internal Family Systems Informed Therapist with a wealth of experience in addressing a variety of issues. With a focus on eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and ARFID, she has also worked extensively with individuals and couples dealing with trauma-related disorders. Melina specializes in facilitating safe environments where individuals, couples, and families can explore with curiosity and develop compassion for themselves, loved ones, and their community.

J.R. has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families in crisis, as well as adolescents, young adults, and members of the LGBTQ community. His unique and direct approach draws from his multifaceted experiences to provide insight into how environmental, mental/emotional, and health-related factors can influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors – all factors that can lead to emotional distress, anxiety, and depression.

I approach my clients from a relational perspective. I value attachment and strength-based modalities in developing a genuine relationship with each client so that healing and lasting change can take place. Through this relational approach, clients have the opportunity to gain perspective on their experienced difficulties and expand their insight into the root causes of these difficulties. I also strongly believe in bringing a holistic perspective to understand and support my clients’ growth. I feel that all clients need a different clinical approach to best meet their unique needs.

NOTE:. As of Jan. 1, 2022, my practice is closed to new clients. Past clients should feel free to contact me to see if I have availability to see them but should be aware that I currently do only televideo sessions. Making the decision to seek therapy is an important one, and it generally stirs up a mixture of feelings, including both excitement and anxiety. I focus on helping my clients feel safe in sharing their difficulties and goals and in assessing their needs. Hi there! I’m LaBria Terrell, a dedicated Master's student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Washington Adventist University. My journey in mental health services has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm thrilled to be gaining practical counseling experience at The Jon Thomas Group, where I support individuals, couples, and families in Maryland and Virginia.

As a counselor, I aim to create a space where clients feel safe and secure on their journey towards healing. My areas of clinical interest include emotion regulation, trauma, family of origin conflict, self-harm, suicidal ideation, behavioral issues, life transitions, body image, anxiety, and depression. Shaina received her Master’s in Social Work from Howard University and is currently working towards LCSW Licensure. Shaina also has an MS degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Longwood University. She has experience working with a variety of individuals, including children, adolescents, and families. She brings her passion and empathy for working with people to provide an outlet for healing and work through difficult times. Dr. Golden is a licensed clinical psychologist. She graduated from the Catholic University of America in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts and in 1998 with a Masters of Arts, both in Psychology. She pursued doctoral education through Kent State University, graduating with her Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology in 2006. Dr. Golden completed post-doctoral training at Akron Children's Hospital and the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Golden is committed to evidenced based treatment in her work with children and families.

I am optimistic in my therapeutic approach helping ladies with reproductive mental health, and couples, families, and individuals (adolescents/adults) who struggle with issues that affect their daily functioning. My goal is to empower clients to understand themselves, to highlight strengths, positive traits, coping skills, and encourage the potential that emerges during the therapeutic process.
