I am still accepting new clients and am offering video sessions via Zoom or Doxy for clients who are distancing. I am a clinical psychologist specializing in psychological testing and assessment. My experiences enable me to listen, assess and diagnose a variety of psychological and educational issues. While I am psychological testing specialist, I also provide therapeutic services in which I encourage and support a variety of people. I use an integrative approach to therapy which allows me to tailor overall therapeutic goals as well as target each individual session to meet your needs at that point in time.

Over 30 years of experience as a social worker has taught me that it takes a lot of courage to ask for help. I have great respect for anyone who has that courage. Most of us feel we can fix things ourselves and most of the time we probably can, but sometimes we feel completely overwhelmed by circumstances beyond our control. At such times, the expertise of a trained therapist can help us to find the strength to work through the issues that prevent us from taking the actions necessary to create fresh options and opportunities in our lives. I feel so lucky to be doing a job I love so much. I care deeply about helping people move beyond their perceived limitations to live a life that is deeply fulfilling and joyful.

Using personality traits of empathy, compassion, and commitment allow me to help you gain insight to have a better understanding of yourself. I specialize in working with adolescents, families, and couples who are experiencing issues related to trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and military issues. I help clients recognize thought patterns that are destructive to themselves and their relationships so that they can create a new version of themselves by increasing their self esteem, self worth, and by giving them strategies to overcome.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) that specializes in helping patients overcome issues related to anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), substance use disorders, family conflict and grief. I also have a special interest and experience helping adults, young adults, and high school students struggling with life transitions (college, adulthood etc.), performance and relationships. Sarah believes that therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist, the client and their family, that allows children and adolescents to be able to meet their full potential. She believes that each individual is unique and the therapeutic process can be tailored to meet their needs. Children and adolescents are able to develop tools and skills to help them process and address the challenges the face through the therapeutic process. Children and adolescents benefit from a person to explore their emotions, process transitions, and develop self-esteem and confidence. Therapy can help build lifelong coping skills and tools.

Grief represents a fundamental dilemma, how to love and live with an open heart and survive the inevitable endings, transitions, and losses that life brings.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Florida) and Licensed Professional Counselor (DC and Virginia). I provide individual therapy to children, teens, and adults managing concerns with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, school issues, and trauma. I use both talk and expressive therapies. I am a registered play therapist and at times use expressive approaches (play therapy, sand tray, art) to help clients communicate and process their needs and challenges.
