I offer clients a safe and non judgmental space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Sessions can be used to explore experiences in relationships, feelings of stress, desired changes, or symptoms associated with mental health. Clients who are interested in additional self-exploration can benefit from my talk-therapy approaches, as well as exploring emotions through the art making process. Art therapy is a creative option for clients who may feel stuck and can’t find the words to describe how they are feeling or for clients who desire visual and hands-on modes of processing.

Sometimes our stress and worries can affect the way we interact with the world and can take a toll on the mind, body, and impact relationships. I believe healing from within, starts with compassion and feeling seen. Whether you want to prioritize your mental health or work on relational issues - having a nonjudgmental and supportive safe space can open the door to potential change and growth. When clients are willing to learn and explore beneath the surface of their day-to-day living, they open up new ways to better connect with themselves and with others. I use a collaborative, warm, and mindfulness approach to therapy.

My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to explore their experiences and provide support as clients take steps towards a happier and healthier future. We can explore what client's need to live life with more peace and joy moving forward. By understanding who my client is, what they have experienced, and what they hope to change will allow us to create personal goals for creating a better mental health plan for their present and their future. I believe in meeting client’s where they are and working towards goals that we set together based on the client’s needs and directed by when the client feels ready to take steps.

Starting therapy is not an easy decision. Many of us are grappling with the many challenges that life throws our way, and for the most part, we can navigate through it until one day we realize it’s just too much. I’m here to say, you’re not alone. As a clinician who has also gone through my own therapeutic journey, I understand how overwhelming, scary, and intimidating it can be to search for a therapist...especially when you’re at your lowest point. I'm here to tell you that light and refuge are on the other side.

Are you tired of feeling controlled by your anger, substance use, or toxic relationships? Do you feel as if getting out of bed is the hardest part of your day, feeling unable to make decisions and achieve your goals, or frustrated by chronic pain and illness? The first step in any journey is always the hardest, so congratulations on taking it and starting to consider participation in therapy. I would be honored to work with you to identify specifically what is and isn’t working in your life and discover how the skills and strengths you already possess can be applied in new ways to meet your goals.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
