I help heal trauma. Deeply-rooted trauma. Trauma that might have changed you in your core, or perhaps trauma that affects your performance as an artist or athlete. You might have had experiences with talk-therapy and still feel "stuck" and unable to move past from those life-changing. With Brainspotting or Hypnotherapy, I can help "flush-out" a lot of these issues from the inside-out. I am a Marine Corps veteran and I am humbled that you took the time to read my profile, so let's see how I can be helpful.

If you are experiencing flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or painful emotions that you don't want to talk about, EMDR offers a way for you to work through your experiences without having to share all the details. If you feel stuck with weekly therapy or have been reluctant to open difficult issues week after week, intensive EMDR can help. We can past in the past, so you can figure out what to do next.

Complacency is not always a good thing, sometimes you must be uncomfortable to be successful. We as humans need help from neutral parties to help us understand things that have been passed down generation to generation, to process the unspoken, the unknown, and many other difficult conversations we don’t want to have with people that know us. I have an interest in women issues, generational issues, families, couples, social justice, and I am sex/kink positive.

Your well-being, confidentiality of your information, and confidence in us as your are my top three priorities. We all need a little help working through everyday stressors that become too much for us to handle alone at times. For we were not meant to exist alone but to help build each other up, to help meet and exceed our potential. Going to a Counselor when you feel sad or overwhelmed needs to be as normal as going to the doctor when you're sick. Let's end the stigma about mental health.

Are you where you want to be in life? Are you happy with your situation? Are you happy with yourself? Sometimes people aren’t even sure what it is they want but they know they want something to change. That is why I am here. I became a marriage and family therapist in 2009 after watching family and friends struggle with the pressures of today’s society and with keeping relationships together in a world that has become increasingly mobile and dependent on technology.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
