We are an outpatient mental health practice in Roanoke, Salem, Blacksburg, Daleville, and Floyd, Virginia, dedicated to helping patients overcome emotional problems using counseling techniques that promote more rapid recovery than traditional non-directive therapy. Everyone goes through challenging situations, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you’ve faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when needed. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

Currently Accepting New Clients. Counseling for relationships, marital, heterosexual, LGBT, anger issues, grief, depression, anxiety, sexual therapy, work, ADD, and general feelings of confusion and unhappiness. I work with individuals & couples. With regard to my work with married couples, it's of particular importance to me to assess whether the couple, or one of the members, is seeking to stabilize the marriage (avoid divorce) or seeking to stabilize and enrich/create a dynamic marriage where you are each other's best friend. My hours are Tuesdays - Thursdays 9am to 12:45 pm. Virtual therapy only.

My approach incorporates a combination of traditional, contemporary and holistic counseling techniques. You will find my office to be a comfortable living-room like setting conducive to privacy, safety and relaxation. Each session is tailored to meet the special needs of the client or clients. CONFIDENTIALITY is always in place except when permission is given by the client.

Welcome. You have taken the first courageous step in seeking help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over thirty years of clinical experience. I work with adults and couples who are dealing with: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, family of origin issues and codependency. I have a master's degree in Counseling from West Virginia University and am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, I am a certified Clinical Supervisor and am open to supervising counseling residents as well as licensed professionals.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have completed doctoral level coursework and currently hold dual Masters’ Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy working with individuals who may be struggling with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Complex Trauma, and PTSD that negatively impacts personal and occupational life, family, and relationship. For the last ten years, I have built a strong reputation in the community for my ability to make meaningful and transformative connections with others.

I have enjoyed many years of getting to know and caring for teenagers and adults as both a Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. I began my career as a high school psychology teacher and discovered that I loved the students even more than teaching my subject! Since then, many unique challenges – relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and just plain life stress – have come through my office door. I have also studied with the FBI and Secret Service on prevention of domestic/school violence and stalking issues. This varied experience helps me work toward my client’s desired results.

I work with people 18 years old and up to support them in effectively making positive changes in their lives. I specialize in providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults who may be dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, stressful life transitions, academic/career related stress, and relational issues. I enjoy supporting my clients as they invest in their personal growth and healing process to authentically express themselves, create heathier neural networks, and learn effective coping skills to fit their unique personality. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is celebrating when my clients feel empowered to create a healthy and fulfilling path in life through their healing process.

I have spent 10 years working with clients who struggle with mental health and/or addiction. Client "specialties" are as follows (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, parenting/attachment, ineffective communication, career counseling and relationship or family systems issues.

As a certified Prepare Enrich facilitator, I also assist premarital and married couples with assessing their strengths, opportunities for growth, and learning skills to strengthen their relationship.

I am currently accepting new clients. I work with individual adults whose goals are to enhance the quality of their lives through counseling. I provide only telehealth counseling, which consists of both audio and visual communication in real time via either a client's computer or smart phone. Telehealth counseling provides access for people who are limited on time or do not want to travel to obtain counseling.
