I have a natural curiosity for why people do the things they do and this helps me to be inquisitive yet not judgemental regarding a person's behavior. I have a strong faith based background and will seek to use whatever spiritual strengths a person has to move them further along in the process of healing and adjusting to their new reality.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who takes a holistic approach to therapy. I am passionate about helping clients of all ages utilize resources of healing that work for them. I utilize a biopsychosocial spiritual framework to include my client's faith. I have experience providing mental health services to teen and adult survivors of sexual assault, underserved populations, and clients experiencing anxiety, depression, mental disorders, and the effects of trauma. Meet La’Quita, a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Virginia with over 11 years of experience. She is the new C.E.O. of E.L.E.V.A.T.E. Counseling Services, LLC. She provides therapeutic services to diverse populations, focusing on addictions, depression, anxiety, marriage issues, and more. La’Quita holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Old Dominion University, a master’s degree in science from Longwood University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Liberty University.

I specialize in anxiety, ADHD and helping parents navigate their child's developmental diagnosis. I love learning about neurobiology and the effects that stress has on the brain. A client can expect to encounter a warm, compassionate, and encouraging soul who has a dry sense of humor and tends to address problems in a straightforward manner. I practice CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), TF-CBT (trauma-focused CBT), ABA (applied behavioral analysis), solution-focused therapy, and structural and strategic family therapy.
