Through my training and work experiences, I have learned to empathize, and work effectively, with college students and individuals across the lifespan, from diverse backgrounds, and with a wide-range of concerns.

I specialize in working with children between the ages of 4-15. I am accepting adults and Couples, who are looking for some support as they journey with eachother. I provide a safe and nurturing environment to help individuals and couples navigate life's challenges. I have extensive experience working with children and families, from a variety of backgrounds and developmental stages. I take Medicaid and provide opportunities for clients to use a sliding scale to pay for services.

I strive to offer affirming and supportive therapeutic services to the Harrisonburg community and Shenandoah Valley. My approach to counseling is rooted in a warm and strong therapeutic bond. One of my core beliefs as a therapist is that there is power and healing in our human connections, in the words and lived experiences we share with one another. I have experience in working with substance use and addiction, complex trauma, grief, anxiety, relational issues, life transitions, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, physical health issues, couples, identity issues, eating disorders, LGTBT+ concerns, and caregivers.

I am seasoned in this work and see adults who have depression, and/or struggle with loss and life transitions. I also work with seniors and people with disabilities. I will work with you on goals you identify. It’s important to understand how your past and environment contribute to your issues, to explore related emotions, identify your strengths and tap into your own wisdom. We can strategize about how to handle current issues.

Welcome! I currently have a waitlist for new clients. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, Autism/ADHD Spectrum and the adoption triad. I am an EMDR informed therapist and currently working towards EMDR certification. I have experience with supporting individuals with managing anxiety, depression and mood disorders, among other mental health concerns. I enjoy working with people in transitional times in their lives, including college and retirement ages.

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia who provides individual and couples counseling. She received her Bachelors Degree from Troy University, where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Colorado, majoring in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Emphasis in Addictions. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, addictions (both behavioral and chemical), anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders.

My hope for our work together is that you will bring your authentic self, and I will too. Support, relief, and change are all accessible when we engage our real selves in this unique work of counseling while trusting the process toward healing.

No longer accepting new clients due to maternity leave! Is your child, teen, or family struggling? I help children and families that are overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety, anger, and depression. Children and teens with a history of trauma, unhealthy relationship patterns, or family issues also commonly come to see me. I am available for in-person or telehealth appointments.
