Having lived and worked overseas, I am familiar with diversity, multicultural and multi-socioeconomic backgrounds. I travel with you, acting as a Transition Coach/ Guide as you explore your inner worlds clarifying your purpose, and shaping to your life's goals. I am also a spiritual coach providing guidance and support for those who are graduating from this life and who need help with this transition. All life is transition and transition is where we create growth.

Life can be complex. There are times when a person feels stuck. Sometimes we desire to turn to someone who can help us. I would like to be able to help you on your journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in inpatient behavioral health, outpatient substance abuse, and outpatient therapy. I have experience treating PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and other related diagnoses. I have specialized training in treating anxiety disorders and OCD. My main focus is working with adults over the age of 18 on an individual basis.

My favorite part of this work is the relationship that I get to build with my clients. I provide a safe space to strengthen trust in yourself, practice acceptance and self-compassion, and begin to let go of what no longer serves you as you develop a deeper connection with yourself. We will work together to deepen intuition and self-understanding, creating shifts that allow for growth and healing. I earned my Masters and Educational Specialist degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at James Madison University. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in behavioral, identity and emotional challenges. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from James Madison University and my Master's degree in Mental Health from Eastern Mennonite University. I have experience working with youth and families who are involved with foster care and adoption, youth who had physical, sexual and abusive trauma histories as well as children with attachment issues. I also have experience working with people is all ages who have anxiety and depression.

Hi there! My name is Sarah, and I am a resident in counseling who received my B.A in psychology at James Madison University, and completed my Master’s of Science in clinical mental health counseling at Radford University. I am originally from Frederick, Maryland, but moved to Virginia to begin my career. I began working briefly as a crisis counselor, and transitioned into working intensive in-home with adolescents during my Master’s program. I currently work as a behavioral therapist serving all populations in a local hospital as well!

I consider myself to be a trauma informed therapist with years of experience. I am a social worker, and with that I try to focus on the whole person and their environment. I strive to support you without judgment as you work towards your goals. A friend once complained to me that their therapist was a "tea time therapist" who would offer active listening and lots of positive regard, but did not challenge them or offer any feedback. My goal is to ask guiding questions that will lead you to new perspectives, and to foster self reflection so that you can leave this space feeling empowered and capable of change.

I work to help my clients create a stronger connection to their essential self, by using an integrative approach to wellness and health. I provide my clients with resources, support, and education. Through my roles as facilitator, guide, and nurturer, I offer a safe, sacred space for clients to explore their vulnerability, potential, and limitations. Grounded in the essential self, clients can observe their present situation with more awareness. As the only PhD Certified Trauma Counselor in the Shenandoah Valley, I will help you identify your emotional and relationship blocks, and develop new ways to overcome and experience Post-Traumatic Growth.

I enjoy supporting children, teens, and families. With children, I offer play therapy interventions to encourage healthy processing and emotion expression. With teens, I focus on creating a strong relationship built on mutual trust and respect. In working with adults and parents, I aim to work collaboratively with you to meet your identified goals. I am a genuine, accepting, and positive individual, and I aim to bring that presence to each counseling session to ensure you feel comfortable and supported.

I enjoy supporting children, teens, adults, and older adults, though much of my experience is with adolescents. I have certifications in play therapy, music therapy, and nature therapy interventions. I focus my work on building strong emotional awareness based on a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I find fulfillment in my work when helping clients reach goals they set for themselves.
