My name is Heather Hamed-Moore and I am a licensed professional counselor in Virginia. I have a Master’s degree from Virginia Tech in Counselor Education and have been practicing since 2009 in a variety of settings including public mental health facilities, private practice, and schools. I am an LGBTQIA-affirming clinician and have a passion for working with same-sex couples, and individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+. I also have experience working with individuals with a history of trauma, those who struggle with anxiety and depression, and those with other mental health concerns.

Christopher is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 3 years of experience working in a variety of counseling settings, including ambulatory crisis stabilization, inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, and school-based services. Christopher has extensive experience treating clients with mood disorders; anxiety disorders; trauma- and stress-related- disorders; and disruptive, impulse control, and conduct disorders. Christopher completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Randolph College and Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lynchburg College.

Children and teens with a history of trauma, unhealthy relationship patterns, or family issues also commonly come to see me. I am available for in-person or telehealth appointments. Primarily my work focuses on children, adolescents, parents, and helping families see how the whole family impacts one another. In my 10+ years of experience I have worked with individuals with different abilities, at-risk youth experiencing trauma, and families desiring to develop a deeper attachment. Individual goals range from coping strategies for anxiety/depression, trauma treatment, and attachment parenting.
