Hello folks! At this time, I continue to share my passion for DBT and EMDR in the treatment of traumas and challenging life circumstances. This year, I am taking time to focus on supporting fellow mental health providers seeking therapy, social workers seeking licensure, and those suffering from perinatal loss. Our therapy sessions together would primarily take place via tele-health (HIPAA-secure web video). I do have in-office availability on Mondays and Thursdays. Carl Brown is a Resident in Counseling who has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. Mr. Brown has experience working with seriously mentally ill population (SMI) adults, children, and families who have experienced trauma, varied mental health diagnoses, and legal and socioeconomic concerns. His professional career began with District 19 Community Services Board (CSB) as a qualified mental health professional working in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Day Program. There he was primarily responsible for training and developing individuals with serious mental illness on independent living skills.

Individuals with ADHD possess a vibrant energy and creativity that enriches their interactions and pursuits. They often exhibit remarkable passion and spontaneity, bringing a refreshing perspective to any situation. However, they may also experience difficulties with focus, organization, and impulse control, which can impact daily tasks and relationships. At the same time, their ability to think outside the box and adapt quickly to change can be tremendous assets. By understanding and supporting their unique qualities, we can help individuals with ADHD thrive in both personal and professional settings.

Yesenia Adent, a Licensed Professional Counselor received her graduate degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Yesenia works with adolescents (13 to 18 year of age), adults, geriatrics, families, and couples. She is fluent in Spanish. Yesenia will work with you or your loved one to promote safety and healing. I am a trauma-informed resident in counseling working toward my LPC. I help those struggling with anxiety, depression, complex trauma, PTSD, D.I.D, self-harm, sexual struggles, and some addictions. My approach is rooted in sensorimotor psychotherapy, interpersonal neurobiology, neuroscience, and narrative therapy, among other evidence-based practices, CBT, DBT, IFS, etc. With an understanding of how trauma impacts the brain, mind, and body, I provide a safe space for healing; by listening and understanding your perspective to identify what’s working for you and what you want to change.

I am a Resident in Counseling focused on working with children, adolescents and adults. My passion for working with Veterans stems from my unique perspective as a Military spouse for over ten years.
