Seeking therapy is difficult, and on top of that, trying to find the right therapist by clicking through profiles is daunting. Life sometimes presents us with challenges that leave us feeling out of control and unable to move forward. Therapy is about learning to speak about these issues, expressing your feelings, and learning healthy tools to cope and regain control. I bring experience working with diverse populations and issues, such as life transitions, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, career issues. As an immigrant, I understand the complexities of balancing cultures, navigating environments, and striving for success.

With individuals I focus on career readiness and self-advocacy towards requesting reasonable work accommodations.
Building confident kids with social skills, advocating for the disabled with skills for employment, and strengthening family communications are the pillars of my passion. Helping children to cope and confidence for happiness, health, and healing can be answered with Play Therapy. Beginning and maintaining employment for individuals with disabilities can be intimidating. I provide support to adults with strategies to navigate through employment. Also, the home environment is first place where healthy family communication should begin through family counseling.

These can range from strengthening a resume, to interview coaching, to networking strategies, to techniques for improving on-the- job performance, to ways of defining likes, dislikes, strengths, and opportunities that point to a new career direction.
If you are stuck in your career or are wondering whether it's time for a change, I know I can help. I bring to my clients the wisdom from the successes I've had as a Harvard MBA, as an advertising executive with one of America's top advertising agencies, as president of an innovative not-for profit, and as a successful entrepreneur. I also have a strong clinical background of 17 years in private practice as a licensed psychotherapist. This variety and breadth gives me a unique ability to view problems from multiple perspectives, creating strategically sound, actionable solutions.

My clients typically have recent life stressors related to relationships, career exploration/burnout, recent adjustment to changes, difficulty coping, anxiety, and depression. They are typically looking for immediate solutions to overwhelming feelings that they no longer know how to handle. My solution focused approach has shown remission from depression in as little as 1 session and rescission from anxiety in as few as 1.5 sessions. I am noted to be in the 98th percentile of clinicians through clinical support metrics in an evidence-based program.

I particularly enjoy working with women as they navigate personal relationships, career, and motherhood.
My goal in counseling is to create a warm, welcoming and honest space for you to process, develop new skills and create greater resiliency. I aim to meet you in the areas you feel stuck and help you to gain new perspective. I have found such power in getting out of your head and verbalizing the internal conversation you having with yourself.

Through my legal career and clinical training, I have developed unique experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients, victims of discrimination, employees facing workplace challenges, couples, and military families and veterans.
Whether you are struggling with a specific issue or simply want insight into how you operate, I’m here to help. Often, a life transition brings people to therapy. Even transitions we choose—like starting college, a new relationship, or changing careers—can be stressful. If the transition is unexpected, like getting fired or facing a sudden health crisis, the impact may be profound. Together, we will work through the emotions and uncertainty that all transitions bring so that you can move forward with new insight and strength.

Many of us struggle with internal voices and leftover doubts from past experiences. My counseling approach is to empower clients to live their best lives. The foundation of our work is connection. Together we explore ways to process emotions, realizing that while feelings may teach us something, they are not always facts. We will build an understanding of patterns that may impact how you talk to yourself, engage in relationships, approach your career, explore growth, and much more.

Throughout my educational and professional career, I have always worked to better understand people and to develop ways to use that understanding to improve their overall quality of life.
My focus is primarily working with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, family stressors, career challenges, and people looking to find a stronger mind/body connection. My theoretical approach is based strongly in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Using CBT with my clients means that some of the time will be spent exploring core beliefs, values systems, and how negative self-talk might be influencing present behavior. I also like to establish short and long-term goals with my clients and, together, discover ways in which to achieve them.

Career Counseling Therapists

How do I know if I need career counseling?

Determining whether a career counselor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counseling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counselor.

Who can benefit from career counseling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counseling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counseling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counselor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counseling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counseling typically last?

The length of career counseling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking. Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counseling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counselor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counseling?

Clients can prepare for career counseling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counselor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counselor, particularly if the career counselor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counseling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
