My background as a former police officer and my work with justice-involved youth as a counselor and clinical therapist provide me with a unique perspective on trauma and life. I specialize in individual and couples therapy, with a focus on Christian counseling, however, I work with clients of all faiths and beliefs. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method to provide comprehensive, compassionate care. My goal is to help you navigate life's challenges, improve relationships, and achieve personal growth, all within a supportive and faith-respecting environment. Most people know that big traumas, like being chased by a bear or an IRS agent, can lead to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). However, few people know that repeated exposure to small traumas can lead to Complex PTSD—a potentially more debilitating diagnosis. Even mild but repeated abuse or neglect can lead to: anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD personality disorders (narcissistic or borderline), attachment, interpersonal problems, (marital and employment), chronic pain, physical disability, anger, sleep issues, self-sabotage and many more. Furthermore, if you are blessed with a highly sensitive personality, the trauma is amplified.
