The phoenix is a mythical bird that has appeared in many traditions and cultures. It has been known for the power to be reborn and regenerate from the ashes making it a symbol of renewal. Our nervous system, from brain to body, can do something similar by a process known as neuroplasticity. Our brain cells can each have anywhere from 10-10,000 brain cell connections. Not only can new brain cells be created but we can develop, regulate, and integrate those connections in more helpful ways through evidence-based treatments. Like a healing phoenix, you can learn to heal, regenerate, and help others do the same.

Treasure has her Master's in Social Work from Ohio State University. She previously completed her undergraduate degree in psychology University of Utah. She has since been working as a Behavioral Health Specialist for Primary Children’s where she works directly with children ages 5-17 experiencing crisis. As a student she has helped with research focusing on adolescents involved in the Juvenile Justice System as well as maternal mental health. In her previous placement she had experience working with children, adolescents, families, victims of domestic violence, and parents needing support.

I am Deven West, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I am dedicated to improving the mental and emotional well being of my clients. I focus on supporting my clients through their personal healing and progress. My priorities are to create a safe and conducive environment for my clients to trust the therapeutic process. I help support the therapeutic journey of my clients by learning important interactions of thoughts and emotions, managing negative narratives, working to address maladaptive behaviors, and understanding relationship dynamics with others.

My ideal client is someone who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, family issues, or relationship issues. My ideal client is open and honest, because my style is nonjudgmental and accepting of all identities. My ideal client wants to have a mix of "venting" sessions and "coping skill" sessions, and isn't afraid to have a bit of fun in the therapy process along the way. My ideal client is someone who wants to better themselves, is willing to work in the therapy room, as well as outside of session.

My role as a therapist is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through active listening, empathy, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques, I aim to guide my clients towards identifying their own inner resources and strengths to navigate life's ups and downs.

There is nothing more powerful than trusting yourself, believing that you can handle the bumps and valleys of life. I believe every single one of us has this resilience inside of us and sometimes we just need some gentleness, play, and connection in our mind and body to get back there. Chances are there is not going to be a quick fix or band aid remedy available to your problem or situation. However, finding the solution does not need to be too far from reach and it would be my intent to make the journey look less daunting. Yet, when it comes to addressing those negative behaviors or addictive traits that often impact our ability to form or maintain a quality of life or healthy relationships. It is important that we are deliberate, calculated, and consistent in our method of treatments. We can start doing this together by creating a space that is conducive with rigorous honesty and vulnerability.

I enjoy working with clients with a variety of backgrounds, life circumstances, and struggles. I especially enjoy working with those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief and loss, addiction, and trauma related issues. Often times, these clients need to be heard. They need to be reminded that they have a plethora of internal strengths. They need coping skills and insights to get through their challenges and be stronger and healthier. I appreciate clients who come into therapy knowing that it is often a tough and uncertain road, but keep going despite setbacks, challenges, and struggles along the way.

They may be facing various issues and challenges in their personal or professional life, but they possess a strong desire to overcome them and make positive changes.
