I have worked in mental health since 2006. I have worked in several different settings and with several different populations. I enjoy working with kids, teens, adults, families, and elderly. I enjoy helping clients work through their struggles, through teaching coping skills, mindfulness, reducing symptoms, and improving overall functioning. I work hard at helping normalize issues and helping others to know that they do not have to face their battles alone.

Finding peace in a time of many unknowns can be one of life's most difficult challenges. Children & teens, especially, have difficulty expressing their deep and uncomfortable feelings through words. Often showing these parts of themselves through negative behaviors. With expressions of irritability, aggression, sadness, withdrawl, clinginess, yelling, difficulty in friendships, and worry. These symptoms can be worrisome and overwhelming to parents and caregivers, as they try to provide support. Adults, additionally, struggle to find peace and contentment through challenges, and can find relief here.

Life can be hard. There are difficult challenges that we cannot deal with on our own. It helps to have someone on your side to help navigate and come out better on the other end. Evie has been with Life Stone since the fall of 2022. Before becoming a therapist, she held several positions in the mental health field, including volunteering for the suicide hotline and working with youth in a variety of therapeutic settings.

Joseph is passionate about supporting others as they improve their mental health and develop solution-focused strategies to live a more meaningful and valued life. His areas of expertise are trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, domestic violence, human trafficking, and PTSD working with children, adolescents, families, couples, and veterans. Joseph is a Certified Sexual Assault Counselor and also works to rescue trafficked children in multiple countries around the world, working with groups such as Operation Underground Railroad, the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, and the Child Liberation Foundation among others.

I specialize in helping parents and caregivers of children who have experienced trauma or who live with special abilities, including from foster and adoptive care. Many of the parents I work with have experienced parental burnout, secondary trauma from supporting their children, or trauma from their own childhood which is impacting their ability to parent. I work with parents to heal their own trauma wounds, increasing their capacity to connect with their children, and parent more from a place of love. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR (and EMDR child certified).

When trauma or stressors occur in life, we often become split off, or dissociated from the core self. Our core self, also known as the authentic self, is one that resides fully and naturally within all of us. It is place where we find a deep sense of compassion for ourselves and others, a place filled with creativity, wisdom, curiosity, and a sense of ease.
