I offer a simple therapeutic approach for mental health issues. Dialectical Behavior Therapy gives you the freedom to be who you are as well as accepting others for who they are. Learning to control your emotions is unbelievably life changing. My clients have made so many changes in their communication, anger control, letting go of the past, and living in the present. Taking responsibility for your behaviors, not giving others permission to control how you feel, and learning how to love yourself first will make a tremendous impact for a positive change in your life. I look forward to talking with you. Carpe Diem

Some of the most difficult and scary steps to take are those beginning steps of change. Often times these steps are out of one's comfort zone, and the first instinct is to want to hide, run or give up entirely. Life never promises or guarantees a pain free existence! However, with first steps and the courage to try, there can be a guarantee to oneself, to learn to take on challenges, struggles, pain, hurt, hang-ups, habits, addictions, etc. At this point its ok and have acceptance of one's difficulties and to embrace it. It's possible with the right guidance, support, and building of skills to rebuild what's been broken/is breaking.

There is no finish line when it comes to improving our own well-being; it’s a lot of life-long work on the client’s part! A therapist should help a client understand their own self, beliefs, strengths, behaviors, goals, and progress over time. My goal is to provide a client with support and valuable tools to overcome life challenges from this moment forward. This can absolutely be achieved at a pace that’s most comfortable for the client.

I think we all want to find that balance in life; that wholeness and harmony we seek. One of the best ways we can give that to ourselves is through therapy. As a therapist, I get to help people heal from their past, find meaning in their present situations, and develop hope for their future. It’s a wonderful process to be a part of.

Life is an interesting mixture of both ups and downs. Having the courage to ask for help with difficult situations should not be an unpleasant process in and of itself. The process of learning and growing should be filled with encouragement and increased happiness, even when discussing difficult topics. In my 25+ years of experience, I have helped people with a variety of obstacles including, marital/couples strife, parent/child conflict, adoption and attachment issues, grief and trauma related difficulties, substance use problems, child/adolescent behavioral issues, school/educational planning, and mental health diagnoses.

I have seen more resiliency than I ever thought imaginable. Both through teens and older adults. I specialize in working to heal current and past trauma. I have worked with the abused/neglected youth and adults, behavioral issues, domestic violence, postpartum depression, addiction, anxiety, depression, borderline, PTSD, bipolar and more. Throughout all of my work, I have learned how unique each individual is and how unique each of their healing processes are. I believe in the power of the mind and sometimes the need to heal that mind to find the power hidden beneath.

Life is full of unexpected challenges and trauma: small, big, some temporary and some life long. Through this we often learn to stop listening to our inner voice, stop getting our needs met, and start listening to negative core beliefs. This often results in: consistent cycles of suffering, anxiety, depression, daily functioning, and relationship difficulties. Together I will help you work through these negative core beliefs, find your true-self, and develop coping skills to heal through all of the trauma and break the cycles. I will help you learn to listen to your own inner voice and find power to make change for growth.

Have you not been feeling yourself lately? Do you find it hard to get up in the morning and struggle to find motivation or just can’t find the strength to face your insurmountable day? Does it feel as if life moves forward yet nothing gets better? Things used to be better and life was going much more smoothly, now there are moments that you are just lucky to be wearing matching socks. Joy and happiness can feel like a dream and that is something for somebody else. I’m here to say happiness can be found today. “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light"
