I believe that people are strong and have the ability and resiliency to do incredible things. Life is full of challenges that can be difficult to overcome. It is my desire to help individuals find or renew their own strengths to overcome any challenge that they may face. Life doesn't get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient as we overcome the challenges we face. My therapeutic approach to mental health treatment is that every individual is deserving of respect and having a strong sense of self-worth. Everyone deserves a happy and meaningful life.

I have immediate openings for new clients on Friday mornings. I find therapy to be a very fulfilling job. I believe every individual out there has something to share and learn from. I find it a great honor to be a part of my clients’ lives and be entrusted with what they are willing to share. I believe that therapy is an alliance between the therapist and the client and a coequal relationship. I strive to find the best evidence-based practice that fits the client’s goals.

My ideal client would be someone who is highly motivated and looking at improving their overall well-being, but can’t quite get there due to past trauma, past and current relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and inability to find balance in work/life/school. They find themselves having a hard time setting boundaries and seem to be people pleasers. Also working with those teens/adults who struggle with self worth, self confidence, and attachment issues.

Individual, Couple, Family, & Child Therapy. Effective therapy starts with effective assessment. The greater my understanding of the family challenges/presenting problem the more likely I will be able to help the family/couple/individual find greater success and happiness. I understand that clients are often feeling desperate and hopeless so my goal for a first session is to build hope and begin to offer researched based interventions and ideas that work! Short term, effective, enjoyable therapy services is my goal as a therapist. Most clients report after a first appointment that they feel at ease with my gentle, kind, and supportive approach.

Shame is considered a universal emotion. At some point in life, we've all felt like we're not good enough, we'll never measure up, or we're undeserving of love. Despite the unversality of shame, we loath talking about it. Why? - Because it'd force us to acknowledge our shame, to shed light on the painful stories we tell ourselves. I believe, however, that talking about shame is one of the best ways to heal from it. Shame requires light and air and in the right environment- an environment of non judgement, safety, and trust- speaking shame can pave the way towards greater self-love and resilience.

Life is universally marked by three constants: its unfairness at times, its challenges, and its profound beauty. This blend of experiences, though often clouded by hardship and sorrow, ultimately reveals a deeper, beautiful journey waiting to be uncovered. While it may be difficult to see past the fog of pain and sadness, together, we can uncover the joy and happiness that lies beneath, even if it means facing these battles together. As a strengths-based therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life's complexities and mend relationships, both with others and within themselves.

My passion for ending suffering in the world began when I was a little girl and my dad read to me the story of “The Little Match Girl” by Hans Christian Andersen. I can still see my little hands reaching out to that little girl who was hungry, cold, and forgotten. I have witnessed much suffering over the years which has deepened my desire to help others. I have worked with indigenous women in the jungles of Costa Rica and Guatemala, assisting them feed their children and empowering them through micro-loans. I have spent time on the streets of Birmingham helping the forgotten homeless, those suffering from AIDS, and drug addictions.
