My focus is to help individuals heal from any forms of trauma, find balance in their life, and become aware of their inner strengths.
Have you ever felt sad or depressed? Felt alone or unloved? Felt so afraid or scared that you prevent yourself from doing things? Have you felt like your life was spinning out of control and you don't know how to stop it from crashing? Have you experienced negative things in your life that have changed you as a person? Sadly, you're not alone. How would it feel to be able to create balance in your life and feel like you're more in control? How would if feel to know that with life's challenges, you can be confident to know you can handle whatever is thrown at you? Now is the time to find your strength and take control of your life.

I served a decade in the military, and while serving in combat, I experienced the unedited version of war, trauma, grief, and most importantly: the human condition.
Most of us have the ability and desire to change, but we need help discovering exactly how. Despite our best efforts, we often feel frustrated and in pain from the impact of experiences we don’t fully understand. I use a dynamic yet evidence-based approach to mental healthcare focused on identifying and realigning a person’s beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors. Retain what makes you significant, and support yourself with a more accurate sense of perception and the accompanying skills required to implement. I’m genuinely grateful to be doing my dream job. I have a deep affection for people and would be honored to work with you.

Life can be hard with feelings of depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. I know that it can often feel overwhelming, and it is easy to feel stuck. I also know that by being heard and validated, by learning new strategies to cope, and by understanding how trauma impacts each of us, that life can get better and can be rewarding. You don't have to be defined by your past and there is always hope for better days. At Best Life Therapy I want to help you understand who you are, that you have value, and that you matter.

I am trained in a few different trauma focused modalities including EMDR and IFS.
Finding the right counselor can be a difficult task. Therapists are a lot like shoes, there are so many to choose from. Some will fit you and some won’t, but once you find the pair that fits just right, then you can run faster than ever before. That is why it is helpful to use the first few sessions to “try on” the therapeutic fit with a new counselor and see how it feels. In my office, the first few sessions I focus on trying to understand more of your story and where you’re at, then to assess together how therapy can be most helpful so we make sure you’re getting what you’re looking for out of therapy.

We will learn to notice your past/present pain, then through various trauma modalities we will learn to remove the pain/emotion without changing the memory.
In the Disney Movie, The Lion King, Rafiki the wise monkey says, “Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” Being an avid Harry Potter and Disney fan has taught me a lot of things in my life. I have been a therapist for over 10 + years. I specialize in all types of traumas (i.e. family or origins, bullying, chronic health, divorce, adjustment issues, life change, grief, to all types of abuse and harm), depression, addiction, and anxiety. I work with individuals, families, couples, the LGBTQIA+ community, first responders/military, and ages 6-96+.

I take a trauma informed approach to care as I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Advanced and Enhanced Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), it helps me bring a dynamic and compassionate approach to mental health care.
Life's journey presents unique challenges that require careful navigation through diverse experiences. With over 20 years of professional experience, I have had the privilege of working with a wide array of individuals across various settings, each facing their own distinct challenges. These experiences led me to earn my Master of Social Work (MSW) and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). For the past four years, I have specialized in individual therapy, leveraging my skills to make a meaningful impact. As an LCSW, it has taught me the importance of focusing on individuals as a whole connecting mind, body, and spirit.

We like to meet people where they are. Trauma can sometimes leave us wondering “what is wrong with me?“ We believe a better question is “what happened to you?” In our practice, we view clients in that way. Everyone has a story, a story that makes them unique. Our interest is in understanding what the story is and how to use a story as a strength rather than a fault. Even though it seems easier said than done, and it also takes time, we believe any client, from kids to adults, can get there with patience and understanding. Play therapy helps that healing process.
