My specialty is working with trauma and PTSD, OCD, Anxiety, and Grief & Loss.
I believe that we could heal the world if we would only first seek to heal ourselves. Some of the most life changing moments come when we decide to sit with our discomfort and ride that wave to healing. Though the pain and anguish can make these moments feel unconquerable, taking the steps toward your own healing allows these obstacles to become a period of transformation, growth, or liberation. Together we can explore your journey and the answers that you hold within.

At times you may feel broken. You’re different and as much as you try, you don’t feel like you fit in. You don’t even know where to begin but you are hoping to find healing and maybe even looking for a change. If any of this sounds familiar, you might be experiencing some kind of life transition, trauma, anxiety, or depression. It can be incredibly challenging and exhausting to face the mix of emotions and thoughts alone. You can find a safe space here and I will fully accept you as you are. Together we can explore ways to help you find the kind of life you want and deserve. I’d love to work with you and be a part of your journey.

My experience working with children and teens covers a variety of issues including attachment, anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, complicated families, grief/loss, trauma & neurodivergence (including gifted and/or explosive children).
Hi, I’m Marilee. My personal and professional background have led me to a singular passion: helping families. Everyday challenges for children and their parents can feel overwhelming, and then tragedy, trauma or other difficult circumstances can make it all seem insurmountable. My passion lies in helping my clients through these times. Mental wellness occurs when we can reconnect to ourselves. I also believe that our relationships can buffer us from life’s difficulties–I help parents and children access the best versions of themselves. I believe in cultivating the practices of self-awareness, creativity, mindfulness & joy.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
