I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in treating trauma, domestic violence exposure, anger management, impulse control issues, relationship issues, as well as depression and anxiety.

My virtual office provides a safe space where clients can sit with and process through uncomfortable thoughts and feelings within a judgement-free environment. I want to help you become the best version of yourself, starting with the strengths you already have and building upon a foundation for your future. I am currently accepting virtual-only clients.

I deal with trauma, anxiety, depression, faith crisis, life transitions, loneliness, relationships, intimate partner violence (IVP), and many other areas.
We all love a great story! Many of us even know which stories insight and inspire motivation, changes, and a refreshed outlook on life. In contrast, other stories keep us from realizing changes and set us up for disappointing outcomes. My job is to go alongside you as you share your stories to help sift through and pull out those that can help you progress to the next stage of your life while coming to terms with other stories which cannot be changed. In other words, how to live with our choices or other people’s actions being forced upon us without those stories defining us.

OCD and anxiety related disorders can feel like a game of whack a mole in which after solving one worry another one pops up quickly to replace it. For an individual suffering from one of these disorders and for their loved ones this game can feel exhausting, frustrating, and impossible to win. Living with chronic illness(es) can feel like a constant grieving process. It is hard to navigate through frequent appointments, unrelenting symptoms, changes in physical abilities and all of the unique struggles chronic illness brings. I provide telehealth individual and group therapy in Utah and Idaho.

First off, I know looking for a therapist is a hard step, so good job. Are you addicted, empty, numb, or confused with how to change? Self-hate? Are you bitter, I'll help you get better. Are you're filled with shame, I'll help you create confidence. Stuck...I'll help you liberate. Struggle with lust, then we'll turn it to love. Lonely and isolated, then we'll create connection. Anxious and in fear, we'll turn it to faith and courage. Porn, ya we'll break that too. Relationship struggles, ya I got you. If you're ready to meet a therapist who isn't weird, then I'm you're guy. I've worked with thousands of men. I am one. Let's do this!

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
