Trauma finds it's way into each of our lives. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, the devastating impact of addiction or the confusing changes in identity; we all find ourselves in situations we never thought would apply to us. It is during these times that a safe place and a clear reflection become invaluable. Having trust in the clinical process takes time; while at the same time confidence can be fostered through authentic connection, a felt sense of empathy, and a true surrender to proven practices. When the right combination is applied, healing is the inevitable result.

Welcome! I’m Meg, an LCSW with a passion for helping kids and teens grow towards their most fulfilled, secure, and authentic selves. Growing up is hard for everyone, but I’ve found that many of the youth that come to see me have had a harder time than most finding a consistent feeling of safety and belonging in the world. Much of my experience has come from working with those who identify as neurodivergent or LGBTQ+, those diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, or other disabilities, those who have experienced developmental/complex trauma, and those struggling with anxiety, attachment, or self-image.

Do you want to join a therapy process group? Have you benefited from therapy but want to get more out of it? I conduct long-term therapy process groups for those who want to work on connecting with their emotions, with other people, and with themselves in meaningful and life changing ways. The process groups I run don’t focus on a particular topic, but people in these groups work on such things as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship problems. I am currently not taking new individual or couples therapy clients, but do have openings for new group therapy clients. I have groups for adults and licensed therapists.

I have experience with individual, group, and family therapy while working with adolescents and adults to treat anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and relational concerns.
I believe that in life we are happiest when we are experiencing growth, but so often the facts of life interfere with our ability to grow. The messages we receive from the world around us, the messages we tell ourselves, depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, and countless other factors can impede our progress and keep us from happiness. In our work together we will build a relationship that can provide the support needed to get through these challenges. We will work together to explore what might be holding you back and identify the steps you can take to best get you where you want to go.

I believe healing is a process; with each layer you shed through healing, your values will shift and grow. I work with individuals, 8 years old and up are feeling a sense of stuckness but are not sure where it lives. We will take what you already know about yourself, even if it’s just a bit, and dive into where you seek to go. The clients I work with are eager to make shifts in their life, crave feedback and support, while knowing that change can be a slow process. The goal for each person I work with is that you begin to understand the places in your life where you can live more fully.

For over a decade, I've dedicated myself to supporting children, teens, and families through emotional and behavioral health challenges. Whether you're facing mental health issues or seeking greater fulfillment, know that you're not alone. My therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration, focusing on your individual needs, interests, and strengths. Change happens at home and I strongly recommend family and/or couples counseling to be part of most people's treatment. Together, we'll create a safe, empowering space for lasting personal growth and healing.

Hi, I'm Bailley! I absolutely love the therapist/client relationship and believe it's essential for you to find someone you feel comfortable with. I understand it can be hard to struggle with mental health (like OCD, anxiety, etc.) while also juggling life transitions and complexities. Sometimes life feels impossible and overwhelming, but with appropriate support and understanding, you can thrive. Let's work together to find root causes for some of your most difficult challenges and discover how you can live your best life. I believe it is a sign of strength to reach out for support. I am honored to be part of this journey with you!

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
