Using relational and multicultural perspectives, along with other evidence-based practices like EFT, DBT, IFS, and mindfulness, I guide clients in cultivating change and well-being.
Therapeutic approaches cannot be a one-size-fits-all solution. My therapeutic work is centered on honoring each individual's unique lived experiences and identities. I am deeply committed to fostering meaningful change through a compassionate and collaborative therapy process. I specialize in supporting adults facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relational concerns, intimacy and sexual issues, immigration experiences, identity development, and life transitions. I believe in our innate capacity to learn, grow, and transform, especially when provided with responsive and caring therapeutic connections.

What’s unique about me is how I integrate my decade-long experience in somatic therapy, alongside approaches like IFS, ACT, TF-CBT, and narrative therapy, to offer holistic care.
As a therapist, I go beyond non-judgment to create a genuinely accepting, safe environment to share your life experiences. I work with clients who are rebuilding their lives, affirming their identities, or adapting to a new normal after experiencing the groundlessness of trauma, a life changing event, or transition. This includes divorce, faith transition, family estrangement, chronic illness/pain, injury, childhood trauma, grief/loss, depression and anxiety. I serve clients with specific concerns related to being women, healthcare professionals, caregivers, or LGBTQ. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-oppressive, and culturally inclusive.

I use Internal Family Systems ( IFS) with clients which utilize your brain and “parts” work to heal.
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” — Fred Rogers. I’ve studied people and learned about self-healing while working as a psych tech at Utah State Hospital along with other mental health roles. Did you know placebos work on medical conditions close to 33% and up to 60%? That means that your brain has enormous healing power. I like to learn about my clients' lives to discover their roadblocks and challenges, as well as their strengths and goals.

As a trauma specialist, I am level 1 certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and level 1 trained with Internal Family Systems Therapy ( IFS) to address the complex fear and shame responses that can occur as a result of overt traumas and childhood attachment disruptions.
My 10 years as a therapist have exposed me to a variety of challenges from deescalating unsafe situations to mediating complex relationship barriers. In my experience trauma can often be found at the core of depression, anxiety, family/spouse conflict, disordered eating, sexual confusion and addiction. All of these challenges can create a sense of feeling stuck, unfulfilled and alone. In some cases, these struggles can be intimidating to address without help. My belief is that therapy acts as a safe place for you to address those struggles in an empowering way; one that gives a sense of purpose, and leaves you feeling connected.

Therapy (EMDR, ART, Brainspotting, and IFS) provides the tools to change and heal faulty programming.
Have you ever felt stuck, struggling to make it day by day? That you are never good enough? Mentally and physically you just feel blah, like life is tedious and flat. It just seems like regardless of how hard you try, whatever progress you make, you eventually slip back into old habits. Yet, other people seem to have it all together, happy relationships, successful careers, and happy fulfilled life. The comparison and constant stress, anxiety, and pressure are taking a toll, keeping you trapped in an unfulfilling life.

I utilize different methodologies, including talk therapy, somatic approaches, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems.
My belief is that patients are always the experts on themselves, and they may simply need a compassionate, neutral party to help them know and better understand what they want, think, and feel. I listen and pay attention to what is said and what is not said. Because people excel at doing what they are used to doing, change can be difficult. Having someone guide them along the way can increase one’s capacity for and likelihood of success.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
