We are becoming more aware how psychological pain increases when we haven't developed a strong sense of self. Such distress, presenting in forms such as depression and anxiety, can keep us from profound and beautiful connection. Healthy relationships we have with ourselves and others are essential for our emotional well-being. First, live a life that reflects who you are, even if others don't quite understand. Trying to conform to what others want has never been possible. In the Power of Awareness, Neville wrote, "The awareness of 'being' remains regardless of the degree of forgetfulness of who, where and what I am."

I love working with young adults and adolescents who are navigating school and career stress, transitioning into adulthood, and changing environments.
Life is both endlessly beautiful and complex. I approach each client relationship with the goal that through individual sessions I can help clients tap more deeply into their own beauty while better understanding their own complexity. I work to give you concrete tools that you can use in everyday life to more adeptly navigate change, relationship difficulties, trauma, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. My approach is collaborative. Together we will use multiple therapeutic tools to dig deeper into patterns of thought and behavior, including DBT, CBT, and Mindfulness techniques.

I work with adults and adolescents and specialize in depression, grief work, anxiety, trauma, and perinatal mental health.
My therapeutic style is one of warmth and attunement. I provide a safe space for people to explore their inner world, heal past wounds, and discover ways to live with self-compassion and authenticity. I specialize in Somatic Psychotherapy and utilize an eclectic, person-centered approach because I believe effective therapy needs to be both individualized and collaborative. Through mindful inquiry we explore the limiting beliefs that interfere with feeling whole and uncover ways to achieve more fulfillment, meaning, and joy in one’s life.

Being a teenager can be tough. Being a parent of a teenager can be even more so. Because this is such an intense developmental period, when you realize you need some outside help, finding the right person can be tricky. Over the past six teen years, I have connected with teens, young adults and their parents to help them find their way to stronger relationships and a solid sense of self. I help teens and young adults with addiction, eating disorders, anxiety and depression, communication and life skills, family relationships, trauma, social media anxiety/isolation, and more.

I know firsthand the struggle of divorce, teenagers acting out, being the caregiver of a special needs child, and having to start your life over.
We are taking new clients at our office. We believe that therapy is a journey to build a better you. Whether that is moving through trauma, exploring and conquering anxiety, learning sports psychology tactics, raising your child (and dealing with the wonderful adolescent drama), fighting addiction, or strengthening your marriage, we're in this together. If you enter my therapy office, you are here to grow. While therapy is a process, it does not have to be a long, drawn out, difficult and treacherous.

Hello and welcome! I am deeply committed to creating a gentle, compassionate space for individuals who have endured complex trauma, C-PTSD, childhood/ adolescent trauma, abuse, and neglect and are struggling with self-worth, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Your “negative” or painful emotions are valid and may be a response to unprocessed traumatic experiences. You’ve been in survival mode for years and realized at some point you’d like to feel differently about yourself and your life. Together, we can find enough relief, insight, awareness, and empowerment to untangle yourself from trauma and begin living your life on purpose.

I love working with children and adolescents, as well as including their parents in the healing journey.
I have extensive experience in play therapy, and I deeply understand its importance in helping children express themselves. I thoroughly enjoy incorporating therapeutic games, art, and creative mediums such as clay and playdough into my work with kids. Allowing children to express themselves in an alternative way allows for a safe environment to explore any difficulties or trauma they have experienced. No matter what your child is going through, I would love to support and guide them towards processing and growth.

I get it. Life happens. I’ve had those experiences myself. It can be hard to know what to do when your relationships are struggling or when you need help. It’s uniquely difficult when you’re worried about your teenager & looking for support. But here you are, taking this monumental step toward improvement. I tend to use a strengths-based approach in my work, helping my clients embrace their best self and enhance their life through the “Three C’s”: Connection, Creation & Contribution. Laying a foundation that allows for the development of the Three C’s leads to living a life of purpose, meaning & “pyong” - peace & confidence in life.

I have 20 years of experience as a therapist working almost exclusively with young adults, teenagers, and parents needing support.
Let’s face it. Our children are facing an ever-growing, chaotic world and are often ill equipped to deal with the challenges they are facing. As a parent are you feeling lost and unsure as to how to help? Does your teenager or young adult cringe when you as a parent mention seeing a therapist? Young people could care less about theory, modality, and technique. They need connection, empathy and trust in a “professional” if progress is to be made. Resistance to help? Great. This is my jam, it’s my passion.

I work with clients 13 years of age and older with mental differences including: ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD , Adjustment Disorders, Military Life, Teen Issues, and Trauma.
Online Telehealth Therapy... I enjoy various approaches to mental health and self-care. I enjoy many pints of ice-cream, bath bombs, a good book, spending time outside, and working out. Most importantly I believe we owe it ourselves, to make sure we are being taken care of and nourished, too, through our own mental health care. My approach to treatment is tailored to fit each person’s specific goals and needs, and I provide a comfortable and safe space for people to express themselves and work through their therapeutic experience.

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
