I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, lasting effects of trauma and eating disorders.
As a therapist, I recognize that every journey is unique and important. I have learned that everyone has a story that deserves to be told. Currently I work with people from all walks of life helping them own their story, recover from past trauma and move toward a bright future. I provide tools necessary to cope with what life brings, recover from their past stories, and create a new future where they are able to thrive. I previously worked as a trained advocate in domestic violence and sexual assault. While in graduate school, I worked with vulnerable youth in a high school setting and find joy in working with adolescents.

Life is too short to stay buried by trauma, poor relationships, or stuck in an anxious or depressed cycle.
I'm not the one looking down from the expert pedestal to instruct you in living a better life. Instead, you'll find someone to walk alongside you as a trusted voice in your life's journey. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you yearn for while actually enjoying the growth process as much as possible. I know asking for help or calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I will be a safe, shame free, and welcoming support from the start. I hope you will take the time to call and see how I can help.

I treat depression, anxiety, and PTSD with Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a therapy technique similar to EMDR that can help you feel better in just 1-4 sessions.
Could you use help getting ‘unstuck’ from unsettling memories that are keeping you from moving on? Are you struggling through a recent life transition or relationship loss? Could you use assistance letting go of trauma? Now more than ever survivors are discovering hope and healing instead of stagnation. Ignoring trauma can leave you stranded in suffering. I believe that you deserve real healing.

The strength and courage it takes to be able to share our experiences is a beautiful and sacred part of humanity. As a trauma therapist, my ultimate goal and passion is to help individuals express, embrace and empower their true authentic selves. When we can live honoring our true selves, we create meaning and find purpose in what we aspire to achieve in life. This empowers us to take control of our lives, and by working on our trauma, we have the opportunity to break free from shame, guilt, fear or resistance by embracing our true selves.

I believe childhood should be a carefree time for play, growth, learning and development. Unfortunately for many children that is not the case. Anxiety, depression, grief, sexual abuse or other trauma can make childhood a difficult and scary time for my clients (and their parents). My goal is to gently and carefully help children and their parents resolve the concerns that are keeping them from all the happiness, safety, and peace they deserve.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
