CBT, DBT and EMDR are among the evidence-based practices I utilize with clients.
When we fall short of the successful lives we imagine it is often because we lack in a skill set or have something specific holding us back. Lucky for us- humans are adaptable! We can change the way we think, feel and behave and learn new skills that better serve us. As an EMDR therapist I strive to connect genuinely with my clients in order for therapy to be a safe space for change to take place. I prioritize meeting my clients where they are at while still empowering them to grow. I am kind but direct.

Hey- I'm Page Graham a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, Utah, and Georgia; I am also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in NC. As a neurodivergent therapist I have a very direct, honest, informational approach that aims to develop a genuine and collaborative partnership with my clients to reach their identified goals. I am more casual than some when it comes to my communication style- I blend coaching and therapy most of the time. While I can easily transition into "clinical mode" using words and phrases specific to the therapeutic world-I prefer not to.

As a therapist, my goal is to help clients identify and understand barriers in their life that are preventing them from achieving peace and happiness. I believe with knowledge comes power; as people gain insight into problems affecting them they can gain insight on how to achieve change in their life. I help clients explore their strengths and weaknesses, while working to use strengths to cope with life challenges, identifying a path to promote change. Lastly, I work to empower clients and help them develop the skills necessary to be successful after our work together is complete.

Do you ever struggle with feeling you are not good enough? No matter how many things you have to be grateful for in your life there is still a part of you that feels less than? Do you feel like you have no idea who you are, or how to love yourself more? Maybe you are in a mid life crisis and are trying to figure out who you are now that the kids don't need you every minute of the day. Maybe you have spent years talking about how you want to fix things, but no matter how much you do nothing seems to be different.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
