I especially enjoy working with clients in major life transitions, including faith, relational, and developmental.
I have been working as a Marriage & Family Therapist for over a decade now, and it has truly been the privilege of a lifetime! I believe my clients have everything they need within themselves to heal, find meaning, and thrive, but we all need support, connection, and collaboration to grow perspective and make lasting changes. I see individuals, couples, and family relationships, ranging from adolescence through adulthood. I work from several approaches and do my best to tailor therapy to my clients’ personalities, temperaments, and functional abilities.

I'm Becca Post, founder of Forward Healing Co. When you choose to heal, my team and I are here to help you heal forward. The old model of change accepted by most medical communities is cyclical in nature. You feel that something is wrong, you seek help, you feel better, you “graduate.” Then, something happens — you’re triggered, life changes, you “relapse” — and you seek help again. Therapy works…until it doesn’t. So I created a new model of change for my group therapy practice: the Forward Model of Change.

Let’s work together to change your life for the better.
Counseling has always been that one unique ability of mine that I felt was a higher calling. The encouragement I get from watching clients meet major milestones continues to increase my passion as a therapist. I am a firm believer that there is no shame in asking for help. Regardless of how major or minor your struggle may be, having someone to talk to makes a massive difference. As a therapist, I strive to provide a nonjudgmental environment that allows clients to feel safe and secure. I work with anxiety, depression, loss, and trauma, in addition to youth, couples, LGBTQ+, and individuals.

My office will be a space where you can feel comfortable and safe. Therapy requires vulnerability and sitting with discomfort. With me, you'll receive a lot of compassion and support. My expertise in processing trauma, as well as the coping skills I can teach you, will benefit your life in a positive way, if you choose to implement them. Do you ever have “big” reactions to things that don’t necessarily fit the situation? Does it get in the way of feeling confident in yourself or your relationships? That is an exhausting experience.

If a stronger and more secure relationship is important to you, let me help by offering a balanced and wholesome look at life.
As a first-generation Asian immigrant to the U.S. and an ex-Mormon, I understand the difficulty of blending cultures, values, and faith transition. It is important to me to help individuals feel heard and give them a sense of belonging. I want my clients to be able to tell their stories without being judged and live fully without shame and guilt. In our sessions, you will gain a new perspective on yourself and find the confidence to take on any challenges in your life. I want you to be able to view your experiences through a different lens

The wounds that we suffer from are often amplified by the lack of a safe space to share our experiences and ask for support. Having experienced various life challenges, I noticed these safe spaces were difficult to find. Offering this support for others is what I value most.

I was born and raised in Las Vegas but relocated to Utah with my wife in 2014. I have spent most of my career as a business consultant and enjoy helping others simplify complex issues. After my own struggles, I realized that these skills could easily be transferred to individuals who had challenges in their personal lives. I am drawn to working with others who are overwhelmed by all the demands life places on them.

If negative experiences and emotions are part of life, then so are the positive ones.
We can’t be human without experiencing some discouragement, stress, anxiety, and heartache. But you know this. You’ve probably tried to change things on your own, repeatedly, and often involving someone else. Yet it hasn’t worked. You may feel stuck, tired, and longing for relief and help. It won’t surprise me if part of your distress is from relationships. Research shows a strong correlation between relationship quality, health, and mental health. Relationships are pivotal to emotional and physical wellbeing. But relationships can be repaired and strengthened.

Welcome to my Psychology Today profile! You and I will be an excellent fit if you're open to working with yourself at the root. The issues of our lives are many and varied, and if we focus our efforts on resolving those individual issues, we are not doing anything wrong, but we also are not working at the root. Working at the level of branches and leaves is like fighting the fabled hydra monster, one severed head reveals three more. Whatever those particular issues may be, you will receive nothing but unconditional compassion from me as we work together at the root.

I like to come at therapy kind of like I would a drummer at a jam session. I'm there to find a groove with another voice. I want to communicate with you and help you to open up and learn to express yourself. We will seek understanding first and then we will find a way to encourage healing and growth that is unique to you and builds a stronger identity. I am strengths-based and I like to find existing skills to help a client build a new way of thinking and interacting with their body. This is also a very effective way of beginning the process of healing symptoms of PTSD in conjunction with other evidence based trauma treatments.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
