Metamorphosis is a state of change in which an organism goes through to be reborn again. Counseling is an emotional process where individuals try to break through the barriers that are preventing them from healing and growing. In my office, you will be provided with a safe space (chrysalis) in which you can slowly evolve. It is my ultimate goal to see you improve. At the end of this journey, I want you to be a wise butterfly who has regained its wings and feels safe enough to explore and delight in the world again.
Throughout this journey, I like to switch between being non-directive and directive by letting the client direct sessions as they begin to improve. This empowers you to practice everything you've learned in therapy and allows you to regain confidence in tackling life's everyday challenges. I mainly utilize PCT, DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, CFT, and CCPT techniques.
As your therapist I will frequently ask for your input on how we can improve things and will meet you where you are at any given time or day. I will approach you with warmth and gentle curiosity but will also challenge you to look deep within yourself because I care.
