My goal as a functional NP is to get to the root of the problem. There are countless physical health conditions that impact our overall mental health. Many people are treated for symptoms, but the cause is frequently overlooked. At Syringa, we will assess things like thyroid dysfunction, hormonal imbalances in women, low testosterone in men, and many other common causes of mental health symptoms. Our goal is to treat the underlying problem and not focus on symptom resolution. When the body is healed, the symptoms will resolve.
I went to school as a family nurse practitioner and learned to treat the physical body. After school I trained with a psychiatrist to learn psychiatric medication management and how to treat mental health. I then completed an additional board certification to treat patients holistically using supplements and hormones. My goal is to treat the whole person.
My ideal patient is someone who is tired of Western Medicine. I want to help people who recognize that the system is broken. There is a better way to do things and this is what we focus on at Syringa.
