Whether we are exploring historical life events that have contributed to current difficulties, working to resolve ongoing feelings of hopelessness, sadness, or cynicism, building skills to curb addictive behaviors (with substances or other vices), or examining ways to tolerate life on life’s terms, I feel that my unique combination of professional experience as a frontline social worker in high acuity residential and outpatient settings have taught me how to approach a multitude of issues with genuine compassion and belief in each individual’s innate capacity for resilience and change.
While my approach to this work utilizes modalities that are evidenced based (CBT, DBT), it is my fundamental belief that the trust and care born out of the relationship dynamic cultivated in our sessions are the driving forces for transformative therapeutic practice, and serve as the foundation for all of my conversations regardless of the topic at hand.
Holding sacred space to explore all domains of life with my clients through a lens of humanism, authenticity, and care in order to influence change in whatever way it has been defined is a privilege, one I do not take lightly.
