Welcome and congrats on taking the leap to find the right therapist for you! If you are an individual in your 20s or 30s who may have a history of trauma or difficult life experiences (during earlier life or more recently) and believe that your current struggles may be related to these unprocessed events, I am here to help. I will work alongside you to help you develop a renewed perspective on how these events may be contributing to current symptoms such as: depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood changes, difficulty managing or expressing emotions, self-esteem struggles, and/or ongoing problems in your relationships.
My therapy style includes mindfulness-based practices to increase self-awareness of unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns. I also help clients to develop coping strategies to help reduce unwanted symptoms. I am trained in EMDR Therapy and IFS, which can be used in combination with talk therapy and other interventions for PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
I know that many clients are coming in feeling anxious about what to expect, feeling overwhelmed with life and finally seeking professional help, or maybe even apprehensive due to a negative experience with therapy in the past. Please know that all of these things are expected and can be managed with intention and care from day one.
