My name is Dr. Erin Scarth, a Licensed Psychologist with over 22 years of clinical experience working with Individuals, Minors, and Preteens with Adolescents/Teens, Anxiety, Trauma, PTSD, Depression, and Dissociative Disorders. I also have a history of working with individuals who have disabilities or are caring for individuals with disabilities. I use a mix of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, and Strength-Based therapies during treatment. I believe that developing a therapeutic relationship is the most essential step in the process.

According to the APA, chronic stress is linked to the six leading causes of death. Stress and its cousin Anxiety, intrude upon our lives physically, mentally and spiritually and relationally. Utilizing a mindful and systemic approach, I help my clients learn to respond to STRESS in a healthier manner and thus, become taken over by their emotions less often. Whether my client is a couple or individual, each desires more authentic relating. I love helping my clients create space away from dis-ease, whether expressed physically in the body or mentally in the mind, and make space for more joy, authenticity, and connection.

Life can be hard. Sometimes we all need someone to help us understand ourselves better, to guide us as we move forward in making personal changes, and to help navigate the path to becoming the person we want to be. I am here to listen to you and guide you as you head toward your personal journey of emotional, psychological and spiritual healing. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, and difficult life transitions, such as divorce or blending a family. As a marriage and family counselor, I help clients in affair recovery, parenting plan development, and healing from emotional wounds caused by divorce.

Taking the step to seek counseling, either for yourself or a loved one, is huge! It is a choice that is says, "I'm ready for a change." My hope and purpose as your counselor is to walk with you through your journey of the therapeutic process of increased insight and awareness into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to build a sense of identity and control. I work with pre-teens and teens in conjunction with their families, as well as, adults, ranging in ages 10-60. I also provide family therapy to promote positive parenting skills, including behavior management techniques and effective communication tools within the family.
