I am a counselor and co-owner of Third Coast Counseling and Wellness. My masters degree is in Clinical Psychology and I have been working in the behavioral health field for over 10 years. I have worked in both private practice and public mental health services. I treat patients with and without health insurance using evidenced-based practices and down-to-earth sessions.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor focused on helping you navigate life and support you on your journey. I work with you on your goals, such as reducing anxiety, depression, improving relationships, communication skills, academic performance, career changes, substance issues and life transitions. I provide counseling to clients of all ages with various tha include anxiety, stress, anger,depression, substance use, sleep deprivation and behavioral nutrition concerns. I utilize health psychology, mental health education, substance use education and yoga principles within practice as I work with clients. Overall wellness is the focus for the clients I work with which includes, nutrition, sleep and exercise while working on their emotional and behavioral concerns. I implement the Strengthening Families program for those families that are in need of creating a healthy environment that promotes positive experiences in family life.

Within themselves, each person has the power and strength to tackle the challenges and difficulties they face. It’s my job, as a clinician, to help them access that power and strength, and I do this by first providing a non-judgmental and positive environment. This allows us to identify the thoughts and perceptions that are influencing their actions, both positive and negative. Real, affirming change can happen when we openly examine the thinking that is holding us back and work to change those thoughts that are no longer servicing our goals. I’m excited to help clients with that self-examination and re-building process.

I believe that clients are responsible for their own behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. As a therapist, I hope to facilitate for my clients greater self-awareness through their life experiences that lead to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and the capacity to effectively navigate the complex challenges of life.

We all struggle with difficulties in our lives, and most have experienced some sort of trauma (big or small) that has affected our functioning at one time or another. My desire is to help people through these issues so they are able to to switch from surviving mode to thriving mode.
