Greetings! My name is Antoinette Allen, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am passionate about therapy and enthusiastic about internal healing. Any individual can benefit from the power of therapy as it helps us to face the challenges of this life and helps us to grow. In my career I have served in various settings such as a residential treatment centers, School settings, foster care and adoption, safe shelthers, psychiatric hospital and private practice. I have served all age groups. I have provided individual, family, and group therapy for over 10 years. Looking forward to being of service!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years of clinical experience. I’ve provided counseling for many different populations at various levels of care, including adults and adolescents struggling with Addiction, Alcohol Use, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Anger Management, Child Abuse or Neglect, Dual Diagnosis, Relapse Prevention, Substance Use, and Stress. I use a mix of Attachment-based, CBT, Client-Centered Therapy, Family Systems, Trauma Focused, Strength-Based, Narrative, and Person-Centered. I believe that having to navigate through my struggles, I can relate to feeling hopeless which enables me to help.

I was raised in a very dysfunctional family. While I will not go into details about this, that part of my life; the stress, anxiety, and depression led me to have a strong desire to not only understand the principles behind mental health but help others in dealing with their issues thus allowing them a bit of solace, easing that burden. Counselors, social workers, and psychologists are all people too, we usually are not perfect people trying to lead you down the perfect path. I retired after 28 years as The Mental Health Program Specialist for the State of Texas to focus primarily on my private practice. I have experience with the child welfare system, I understand the dynamics involved with families in crisis. I have experience with individual group and family therapy. I provide psychiatric evaluations for acute hospitalizations, individual/group psychotherapy and LCSW Supervision. I am certified trauma specialist.

I am a Rio Grande Valley native that is currently living in the Texas Hill Country. I have been providing therapy services over 17 years working with people with substance use disorders, dual diagnosis, mood disorder, and persons who have disabilities.

I have learned that each individual has unique therapeutic needs and because of this, I strive to create an environment where you can discover your inner strengths and resilience in a setting filled with safety and compassion. We will focus on internal narratives and beliefs challenges as well as challenging (external) behaviors that may be roadblocks to finding the life that you are striving for.

I join with my clients to explore barriers and overcome them to create a sense of peace and wholeness. My goal with clients is to help them arrive at a place where they feel comfortable, secure, and empowered to be themselves.

I cater to clients who are ready to start their therapeutic journey and find relief from problematic symptoms ( e.g. depression, anxiety, and those related to relationship problems, parenting concerns to name a few).
