Affectionately called "a mender of people," Mendy Landreth uses her compassion and empathy to bring healing to individuals and families with various needs. Her extensive training as a Registered Play Therapist has been the backbone of her powerful work with children and has made her more attuned to adolescent and adult clients as well. Mendy utilizes sandtray therapy and other expressive art activities with interested clients of all ages. As a Certified Child-Parent Relationship Therapist, Mendy has successfully trained parents, grandparents, and other counselors with practical tools that reduce conflict and increase family unity.

My passion is working with individuals, couples and families to help them feel empowered in their lives and relationships by providing them with better coping skills, stress reduction strategies and communication techniques. My areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, substance abuse, co-dependency, couples and family counseling, women’s issues, infertility, and stress management.

I come to this profession with a drive to bring forth honesty, self-discovery, and self-compassion with each person I work with. At my core, I see therapy as a transformational process that helps people to become empowered and unburdened. Through a process of safely unearthing, re-wiring, and re-writing our lived experience, therapy can bring about a shift of perspective that can have a ripple effect of positive changes in someone's life. As your therapist, I use a psychodynamic, strengths based approach in our work together. I take this process and your time very seriously, as it can be a life changing investment in yourself.

I firmly believe we are created to live life in the present with joy, peace and love. However, we are inundated with media, messages and influences that leave us stressed, anxious and overwhelmed. We strive, push, and repeat unhealthy coping patterns. It is exhausting! Eventually, you find yourself lashing out at your loved ones, becoming judgmental, staying busy and disconnected, blaming others or being mad for reasons you can't remember. The patterns and ways of being can change, but it takes more than talk therapy.

What I’ve found matters most is finding someone to walk alongside you. We are wired for connection, and despite what the movies portray the fertility, pregnancy and/or postpartum experience to look like, it can be a time where you feel cut off from others and yourself in unexpected ways. Previous pregnancy loss and miscarriage can also impact an experience we’ve longed for.
