TODAY IS THE DAY YOUR SPOUSE DISCOVERED your pornography stash, payments made to massage parlors and prostitutes. Perhaps your MANAGER DISCOVERED you were VIEWING PORNOGRAPHY AT WORK or engaged in INAPPROPRIATE SEXUAL BEHAVIOR WITH CO-WORKERS. YOUR JOB MAY NOW BE AT RISK. Your life is in CRISIS. You may also be experiencing SUICIDAL THOUGHTS or have PANIC ATTACKS THAT YOUR WORLD IS COMING TO AN END. I can assure you YOUR WORLD IS NOT COMING TO AN END BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE ACTION!

Counseling, psychology, mental health, and hypnosis have ignited my passion to work with individuals and families long ago. I enjoy working with individuals who have temporary lost their way, lost joy in life, and might be struggling with anxiety, chronic illness, pain or upcoming surgeries, depression, panic attacks, insomnia, or mental blocks. One of my specialties includes working with musicians, artists, writers, and other professions in the entertainment industry. Additionally, I enjoy exploring multicultural issues with immigrants, trauma work with any individuals, and guiding individuals through life transitions.

As a professional and multicultural individual who has lived in several countries, I understand the profound impact of living and working outside one's own culture, often without the familiar support of family and friends. The pursuit of a successful career can demand significant sacrifices, and I recognize the losses that often accompany the gains. Whether you're facing relationship difficulties, anxiety, health challenges, or navigating neurodiversity, I provide a safe and affirming space for people from all walks of life, including individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. Together, let's embark on a journey of healing and growth.

Sometimes our lives can feel like an exercise in frustration. We may feel trapped, isolated and disconnected from people around us, including our families. Discordant relationships, anxiety, PTSD issues, LGBTQ issues, physical & emotional abuse, and substance use may impact us in harmful and destructive ways. Working together in a safe atmosphere, we can examine your particular struggles, find your hidden strengths, challenge outmoded habits, and develop solutions. Step by step, you will find ways to move forward out of the frustration of anxiety and depression, finding renewed hope, motivation and fulfillment: even joy!

Do you feel weighed down by your past, struggling to connect in your relationships, or enjoy the present? Maybe you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck, and true happiness feels out of reach. You’re not alone—many people carry emotional burdens from their past, unsure how to move forward. Ignoring these feelings only makes things harder, but it doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve to be more at peace with yourself and more connected with the people around you. With the right support, you can let go of what’s holding you back and live a more fulfilling life.

Psychodynamic Therapists

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
