She is excited to roll up her sleeves with you and wage some clinical warfare on the issues like OCD and anxiety that hold us back from living a life of joy and freedom.
Clients often come to me because they feel enslaved to their thoughts. Sometimes they find themselves spending 3-8 hours a day obsessing over fears such as losing loved ones, hurting friends, or acting on unwanted impulses. They want to learn how to be free from having to perform certain rituals or mentally track and replay experiences in order to "neutralize" or prevent some perceived threat. I can help you get there through the gold standard of treatment: CBT and ERP! Listening, caring, and advocating for others is my priority. I am a Christian and live to be an instrument of Jesus' mercy, no matter where you are in your faith.

The unique connection that we all have is that everyone has a specific way that they process. How you were raised directly connects to how filter through your life experiences. If you have any kind of trauma from your childhood then your world view might feel stressful, rigid or you might feel constantly on guard. Even if you did not have any childhood trauma and you still feel those ways, you should not have to go through it alone

Are you feeling unsure of your ability to cope with whatever circumstances come your way? Do you struggle with feeling "not good enough"? Do you find yourself being easily upset or irritated? You may have days when you're so overwhelmed that you don't want to get out of bed. Perhaps you ruminate about current situations that are challenging or about past hurts. Or, conversely, you may feel that you must overwork and please everyone to be valuable. You stuff down any uncomfortable feelings, telling yourself that you will deal with them later. But the uncomfortable feelings end up bubbling over at the most inconvenient times.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
