I can help with a wide range of behavioral and emotional concerns that you may have for your child or teen. Each child is unique, and I use a variety of techniques that are modified to fit your child’s needs including play therapy, expressive arts, games, activities, and talk therapy. I will also work with you as a parent in learning how to respond to your child’s feelings and behaviors in the most effective and healthy ways.

I work from a cognitive behavioral model to understand the connection of our thoughts, feelings, and actions and how one may be stuck in a cycle with these thoughts and feelings dragging them down. My therapeutic philosophy involves utilizing a holistic approach incorporating Gestalt and Adlerian therapies. As a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in athletes, children, adolescents, and young adults, I frequently work with clients experiencing issues related to poor sport or school performance, life changes during adolescence, life transitioning from college to career, parenting issues, sibling relationships, and divorce family transitioning. Topical issues may include low self-esteem , ADHD, transitioning from athletic identity, peer relationships, anger management, self-mutilation, eating disorders, and self-empowerment. A fundamental element in my approach is establishing the therapeutic relationship through rapport and building trust between the client and the therapist.

My therapeutic approach employs flexible integration. This style enables the counseling experience to be tailored to the individual needs and style of each client. This can range from behavioral to psychodynamic techniques. The methods are different but complimentary in order to give each client the most effective experience.
