My name is Lisa LaSalle, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I work from a client-centered, trauma-informed approach utilizing primarily CBT, DBT, and workbooks as an adjunct. My specific areas of focus include trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, body image, anger management, domestic violence, and sexual assault. For 20 years, I have helped children and their families cope with bad things that sometimes happen in a child's life. This includes abuse, divorce, school issues, loss of a loved one, or low self-esteem. I understand the ripple effects that these can have on family members and how hard it is to watch your child struggle. I use a neuroscience-informed approach to create a safe environment for clients to release the emotional pain in a way that makes the most effective use of your time.

She has been a licensed professional counselor for 11 years, with a master’s degree in Counseling from Texas Southern University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. This led me to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which can yield remarkable results in processing and healing trauma responses. In addition to EMDR I also use Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT and DBT. There is a solution to end the cycle of suffering. We can be free of emotional pain caused by trauma and childhood experiences to live our best lives now.

I always like to say God gave me children early in my adult life because I was meant to help children in their own life struggles. I fully believe that God has plans for us even if we do not fully understand them! When our children face struggles that we cannot understand or feel equipped to help them with, we can feel lost and overwhelmed. Children and adolescents are often placed in situation and have experiences that are out of their control.
