My approach to play therapy is non-directive, client-centered play therapy. I have worked with children from diverse backgrounds. I look at each child and figure out which therapeutic modality works best for them. In terms of parenting, I use Theraplay to build the attachment bond with the parent and child. I also assess the family and we can collaborate on ways that meet your family's needs.

I have over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and their families who are dealing with a variety of behavioral health, alcohol and drug abuse issues. My experience has shown me that by changing unhealthy patterns, expressing fears and concerns and taking gentle risks, it is possible to live a satisfying life regardless of what or how long your struggle. I use a combination of techniques depending on issues presented and we will work together on both short and long term goals.

I work with children, adolescents and young adults to better understand their emotional state while also addressing unwanted emotional and/or behavioral reactions. Engaging parents, especially those of younger children, is very important to me. I also enjoy working with young adults who are dealing with phase of life issues, anxiety and mild depression. Welcome! My name is Victoria Williams and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with individuals and family in areas such as anxiety, anger management, behavioral issues, coping skills, and depression, amongst others. I work well with adolescents in that I listen to them and help them gain insight to understanding how their behaviors play a major role in their future. I use the cognitive behavioral therapy approach as I believe thoughts are directly tied to behaviors. Once we are able to identify irrational thoughts, we can start to learn more positive functional behaviors to respond to uncomfortable situations.

With Certification in EMDR and over 12 years in private practice, I have extensive training and clinical experience treating trauma-related symptoms, suicidal thinking, self-harm behaviors, anxiety and depression. I also provide education and guidance both in therapy sessions and public speaking to parents and teens towards the forming of healthier patterns of behavior through skills in validation, communication and conflict resolution.

Having experience serving in the miliary and working as a paramedic, I bring a varied and deep knowledge base relating to traumatic and other chronic disorders. I have worked in the managed care system with both acute and chronic illnesses and focuses on how overall wellness and physiological well-being play a role in how we feel mentally. I have experience working with clients of all ages and from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
