My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, sexuality, gender, grief, trauma, coping skills, and communication.
We all have what it takes inside to make it over life's hurdles, but sometimes we need a helping hand. I am here to give you the support and skills you need to overcome the difficulties you face. I understand that looking for a therapist is a vulnerable experience. Be assured that I will see you as a person rather than a diagnosis. I believe that each person is unique. Therefore, I draw from multiple psychological approaches and tailor my approach to your personality and specific needs.

I have a passion for helping adults and teens dealing with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship conflicts, self-esteem challenges, life transitions and building social skills.
How many more times will you try to carry your burdens alone? How many more times will you smile for the rest of the world, when inside you feel empty or frustrated and overwhelmed? Life is full of challenges, but you don’t have to face them alone. I think it's wonderful that you have decided to take such a brave step forward in your journey towards clarity and healing.

So, we have some work to do! If you're willing to learn, I will teach you how to manage your mental health and thrive! We must first get you to love yourself, trust yourself, and see yourself "as is" in order to change and manage your anxiety/depression, decrease obsessive and compulsive behaviors, reduce dissociation, and build healthy relationships.
Now accepting new clients online! My story: I thought I could do it all & on my own. I was "ok" ignoring all the signs like panic attacks, staying in bed all day, and obsessing over every little decision, mistake or adversity. I've learned to accept some things & change others by understanding that life is what I CHOOSE IT TO BE! My current goal is to help you diminish suicidal thoughts, express yourself more effectively, and manage your moods. I want you to be "ok" and even better than ok!

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
