I've been working with people for over 25 years, in many nations around the world. From victims of childhood abuse, to those grappling with trauma or others who simply desire growth in specific areas of their life, it has always been my passion to accompany people in their journey. Ashley Jesse is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who is devoted to helping children and adults struggling with Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, and Grief to create and maintain healthy coping patterns and find a sense of relief from painful symptoms. She has over seventeen years of experience in settings including community mental health and non-profit agencies and received her Master of Arts degree in Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA in 2006.

I have over 25 years experience in treating mental health needs. I work with clients of all ages. I specialize in depression, anxiety, and trauma but work with a variety of other issues as well. I utilize an integrative approach tailored to each client including utilizing play therapy with children. I have experience in individual, family, and group therapy.

I have over ten years worth of experience working with children ages 3-18 in various settings throughout my professional career. I have five years of experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health diagnosis (i.e. Autism Spectrum disorder, ADHD, ODD, etc.). I also have experience addressing behavioral problems, parent-child relationship difficulties, improving parenting skills, and improving communication between family members.

My name is Cristina “Cristy” Thornell (née Martínez-Smith) and I was born and raised in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. After completing all my professional studies in Texas, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, with training in both English and Spanish. I received my master's degree in Community Counseling, and my doctorate degree in Counseling, Education and Supervision.
