Wow! I am so glad you're taking steps towards self-discovery. This is the beginning of a new chapter where you can finally have space to focus entirely on yourself. My primary role as a therapist is to support and guide you during this journey. No doubt this journey will be challenging, but the benefits of investing in yourself will make it all worth it. The most common feedback I hear from clients is the relief they feel from talking to an unbiased person. Talking without filters can be exceptionally healing and through this experience we can explore and identify problematic themes and behaviors that deserve attention and growth.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a counselor. I have no idea why, but even as an adolescent, I was drawn to people and trying to help figure out what makes them tick. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of the counseling experience. In that relationship, it’s very important for me to hold the space for the client. Both client and counselor need to feel that the environment is a safe space, allowing the therapeutic process to take place. That starts at the beginning, where it’s key that the client, whether new or established, feels that trust and can begin opening up.

My primary focus in counseling is helping people who have difficulty with their emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. Frankly, there are as many issues as there are people. Everyone is unique. I have acquired specialties in helping individuals with problems over the years that include hypnotherapy, brief counseling and consultations, employee DoT return-to-duty evaluations, organizational development projects, and consultations for mgrs seeking services for on-site injury or deaths. But if you are someone who is struggling with stress and worry, or self-esteem problems, I'm sure we can help there, too

Hello! I'm Abel Garcia, a licensed clinical social worker. I believe in creating a sense of safety in therapy, because with safety comes vulnerability. In that space, we can do our best work to help you feel seen, accepted, and loved. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in child protection, crisis counseling for children and adults, and as a research analyst, studying how life circumstances—like housing, education, and income—affect well-being. I bring this understanding into therapy, recognizing how life’s complexities deeply influence mental health.
