Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a native Tennesean, she earned both her Bachelor’s of Psychology and Master’s of Community Counseling from the University of Tennessee. Her professor once said, “Play is a child’s most natural language.” That phrase, along with her love of the children, solidified Ashley’s career path. A job opportunity called her to Texas where she fell in love with breakfast tacos, blue bonnets and wide open spaces. She worked at an inpatient psychiatric hospital that exposed her to a variety of clinical diagnoses in the child and adolescent population.

Hi there! I am an LPC-A and provisionally credentialed Art Therapist. I am Hispanic and bilingual in English and Spanish. As a therapist, I believe in meeting my clients where they are to establish a good therapeutic relationship in which we can begin to work and grow. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I attended the University of Texas San Antonio, where I earned my Master of Social Work degree. I have been in the helping profession for over 10 years, and got my start in working with children in residential care through the foster care system. I provide individual counseling and premarital counseling for couples using the Prepare and Enrich Program by David Olsen. For the past 27 years, I have counseled adolescents, children, and parents in the school setting. Away from the school, my practice focused on clients of all ages who were encountering anger, anxiety, grief, depression, and low self-esteem. By attending counseling and through much encouragement, clients were able to better focus and resolve their mental issues.

Whether it is your first time in therapy or a you are a lifelong therapy fan, I strive to make everyone feel comfortable and accepted in my (virtual) office. In therapy sessions, I am flexible to client’s needs both in their goals and how they want to get there. I have some clients who prefer to be more structured and practice certain skills while I have other clients who prefer to make the session feel more like a free-flowing conversation. Some issues that I speciailze in are PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, veteran's issues, and life adjustment issues.

My experience and my practices reflect my academic interest to understand the self in relation to others.
